What We Believe:

Culture ROI was founded to impact the organizational culture driving results. We recognize that commerce is a vital part of society and that market leaders are key community change agents. In fact, we believe that business serves as the lifeblood of society, advancing the creation of individual and social legacies. Given the considerable percentage of time people spend working, breakthroughs in the quality and efficiency of work life impacts in the personal lives of employees and executives.

Culture ROI has demonstrated that lasting transformation is achievable in any circumstance or environment. Transformation must be:

  • grounded in an objective, fact-based assessment of current reality
  • focused on a clear and committed vision of the future
  • the result of disciplines and intentional application of recurring practices over an extended period of time.

We are keenly aware that the current economic crisis represents a fundamental paradigm shift in business and society, i.e., that there is a “new world order” in which old rules, concepts, and methods will no longer be effective – and hence that perhaps never before in a modern society has a transformational approach to business been so necessary.

Our “Philosophy” is very well articulated in the book “The Three Laws of Performance”:

  • human beings always make the best choice they perceive as possible in any circumstance (i.e., “how the world occurs for them”);
  • secondly, the way people perceive their circumstance occurs in language – more specifically, in ongoing conversations with others and within themselves
  • finally, the future that people perceive and hence believe in, as reflected in those conversations, determines their actions and behaviors in the present and thereby ensures that very future.

Aligning with these tenets, Culture ROI recognizes that language is critical in both assessing and transforming an organization’s culture. In fact, it could be said that the true culture of a company actually resides in conversation. Language is therefore vital in assessing culture and determining what future is being manifested in the present. Therefore, in order to transform behaviors and the resultant long term performance of a business (i.e., to realize a new future), Culture ROI seeks to interrupt the current set of conversations taking place and redesign a new “script” aligned with the organizations declared future.

What We Do:

Culture ROI delivers measurable results to the bottom line. As its essence, our work creates an opening for people and organizations to consider unprecedented possibilities for the future of their team or company. A key element of this process is to shift the focus of individuals and organizations away from predicting success based merely on history, and instead to align with the future they declare. This includes emphasizing outcomes and results as opposed to efforts or desires, and intention and responsibility vs. hopes or plans. We partner with executive teams to develop their staff in three primary areas: leadership development, sales and negotiations, and budgeting and strategic planning.

How We Do It:

  • We investigate current conversations:
    • Personal internal conversations composed of historic belief systems that limit possibilities for new action.
    • “Public” conversations that define the corporate culture, which may reflect, ‘cordial hypocrisy’ instead of candor and authenticity
  • Emphasize a set of new approaches and mindsets rather than simply the adopting different techniques, tools, processes, or mechanisms
  • Conduct through and fact-based analyses to ensure that “reality” is grounded in objective data vs. merely subjective interpretations
  • Judicious application of various action based methodologies that include interactive training, executive coaching, in-the-field “shadowing”, joint problem-solving teams, and if requested, assuming part-time or temporary positions in operational roles

How We Are Distinct:

  • An intense focus on bottom line improvements and adding value
  • Employ highly pragmatic and experiential approaches vs. purely theoretical seminars/lectures
  • Partner with our clients to implement our approaches and hence take responsibility for results, rather than merely providing traditional consultants’ advice or recommendations
  • Take a long term view of the commitment we are making to deliver measurable and enduring impact to the bottom line
